Havan's Distribution Center (CDH), located in Barra Velha (SC), is the largest in Latin America. With over 200,000 m², the CDH directly serves more than 160 mega stores of the retail network, handling the receipt, sorting, and shipping of over 350,000 products. The facility employs more than 1,400 workers operating in different shifts. Every day, over 100 trucks leave the center, distributed across 280 docks, loaded with products for the hundreds of stores spread across 21 Brazilian states. Automation is a key component for the efficiency of the entire process, as more than 20,000 boxes are transported per hour.

Luis Eduardo – Information Security Analyst, Havan Labs Until 2018, the system and network in use were outdated – nearly 10 years had passed since the last implementation – and could no longer support the necessary operations. With outdated access points, employees often couldn't connect to devices and constantly lost connection, which negatively impacted their tasks and, consequently, the workflow. Signal coverage loss led to delays and compromised the logistics process of the CDH. Additionally, managing the old network was difficult and complicated, so the managers were unable to maintain the system as needed. The entire CDH required an upgrade to its Network Infrastructure to support both the expansion of the environment and the growth of the Havan brand. Over these 10 years, the space had doubled in size. When searching for a technology partner, Havan was looking for, and needed, experience, quality, and agility, as the CDH could not afford any downtime that would jeopardize its processes. The Teletex team presented several proposals based on the client's needs, focusing on developing a new system that could handle everything with quality. In partnership with Cisco, utilizing cutting-edge equipment and technology, they carried out the planning and implementation of a tailored solution to meet the demands of such a large and complex environment. The solution implemented was Cisco SD-ACCESS. With new, state-of-the-art networking and Wi-Fi equipment, along with an enhanced SD-WAN connectivity infrastructure, it was connected to the Havan Administrative Headquarters in Brusque (SC). More than 100 access points and 50 switches were installed to efficiently support the entire space, ensuring quality coverage and meeting the expansion of the environment, network, and number of simultaneous connections. "The management aspect is great now. It's centralized. Before, we had to go to each device to configure them. Besides the solution being intelligent, it allows for various automation scenarios in the environment." It allowed the environment to grow and support the entire operation of Havan stores spread across Brazil, which continue to expand and grow. The CDH has become highly technological and an example of what is best in technology for corporate environments of such complexity, providing real operational gains and a reduction in internal incidents.

The implementation was planned, and with the new technology and devices, it was possible to achieve greater efficiency in the logistical process of the CDH and the entire Havan store network. Network management became agile and functional, allowing technicians to execute configurations more quickly. With the results achieved, the Havan Distribution Center is now able to expand its physical size and stock to accommodate the brand's growth, without worrying about connectivity issues.
